Advice on a Laptop.
Right guys, im looking for a new laptop.
Not for personal use, one thats practical for taking to university with me but isnt a like a 7" or 10" screen. At least 13. I need something thats quick and has a good graphics card for running my game design program. The laptop im using right now runs it, but crashes alot and the graphics on this look shit compared to others.
This is what I have right now.
First laptop Ive looked at buying is this. But the 4GB version.
My uncle said I could get alot more for my money if I bought a windows with the same amount of money I would spend on the macbook. But I dont know too much about tech specs for laptops if im honest. So help would be appreciated

Re: Advice on a Laptop.
well your uncle is right, a windows laptop is cheaper and you can get higher specs BUT macs are nothing but overpriced polished turds.
if you like men i'd suggest getting a macbook pro with an i5

Re: Advice on a Laptop.
It depends on your budget.
My personal recommendation is PC rather than a MacBook. Like your Uncle said, you get more bang for your buck with a PC with a higher spec graphics card. For example, my laptop cost me about the same as a Macbook pro, but it has a faster graphics card, a bigger 17 inch screen and a blu ray player.

Boooooo to Macbooks. You should get a PC CK.
If you want the little perks that apple offers then get an iPad to go with your new PC

Re: Advice on a Laptop.
a pc is good for you and i along with anyone else who understands how to keep them updated and the hardware running smooth BUT all im sayin is that ck needs a laptop for class, a class where hes using game dev software that is tailored for macs, in the long run he'll be better off with a macbook of some sort

Re: Advice on a Laptop.
Right more advice.
I was given £600 back to me for my travel expenses, so I will most likely buy a new laptop sometime next week.
Quick question. Is it worth paying the extra 200 for a macbook pro ? Or just go with the normal macbook

Re: Advice on a Laptop.
I would say no the normal macbook. My friend has one and it barely runs Portal on the lowest setting, but then again it's a year or two old....CkSned wrote:Right more advice.

For 600 bucks I would go for the PC, but if your going to get a Mac, go for the MacBook Pro instead.

Re: Advice on a Laptop.
Don't pay 3x the amount for basic computer parts in a shiny box (aka, don't buy a mac). Soon you'll be one of those pretentious fags sitting in a coffee shop wearing pseudo-intellectual glasses talking in a metrosexual tone of voice and sipping soy lattes.
