New campaign rumors going around that connects halo 3 and halo reach

So people are saying that the planet at the end of Halo 3 legendary ending is actually Reach, and that at the ending of Reach when it shows your helmet on the ground and the grass, is actually 30 years into the future and that ship is the forward of dawn.

Honestly that is pretty cool if true, and apparently there is a secret ending to this game too, but no one has figured out how to get it yet.

To be honest, that would be really epic if that were true. Plus it wouldn't really hurt anything canonically since anything post Halo 3 (2553 & beyond) hasn't been determined yet. (Besides the ending of Reach)

if the chief and cortona came out the other end and ended up at reach then why didnt she instantly recognize where she was ? and at the end of reach the planet was not completely black like the end of halo 3, this story is already falling apart

Drag what you have to remember though is that Chief & Cortana were drifting in space for at least 3 years after Halo 3 (the Halo Legends episode Origins), & Cortana was already showing some major signs of rampancy. So it can be assumed that Cortana drifted into rampancy in 2556 or close to it. So if what the rumors are saying is true, then Chief would have been drifting by himself in cryosleep for 30+ years. So Cortana wouldn't have been there to recognize Reach, since she had already "thought herself to death" some 30 years previously. It would have just been Chief on the Forward Unto Dawn, still in cryosleep.

Peenix speaks the truth..... There are some things suggesting that this could be possible.

That's an excellent point. The entire back story is only known to probably 1/10 of the entire Halo playing population, so it would have to make sense to those who have only played the games. (You know the ones who just realized Chief had an actually name in Halo 3)

So Drag & I are still talking about this & there's plenty of ways this story could go.

For example, we know Halsey gets out of Onyx because she's giving Noble 6's eulogy. We don't know how or when though. It very well could be her ship landing in that cutscene, not Chief's.

I'm hoping Ghosts of Onyx 2 & The Forerunner Trilogy novels will shed some light on this.

If you guys are talking about the books and the story in the video games then I don't think that is right

The canon in the books =/= The canon in the games

But still I love how deep the halo universe is. Bungie is just a bunch of geniuses if you ask me. You could literally sit and read about the halo universe for days and still not know everything or completely understand it.
