Is the Beta open?

Sooooooooooooo yeah, I see people playing, but When I slap my ODST or Mythic disc in I get no option to play the Beta....Whats the deal?

Yeah i actually kept checking for like 2 hours to see if was up, isnt there

But semi-broken........if you get in MM don't leave. The connection seems to be sketchy at best with the Reach server. Some lag issues. Melee is fucked.....Sword Lunge is ridiculous length Magnum clip should be larger, I like the new veto system and last but certinly not least the DMR and Needle Rifle are EPIC .

As in most times I see people complaining about the DMR is because it isn't for hyper trigger happy players. With the DMR you need to aim a lot more and have some patience to reap the benefits.

My thoughts on the beta.
Weapons :
DMR & Needle Rifle are just amazing if you get the right firing rythem.
Pistol is fucking epicly good, especially if you use it with an AR
AR seems a little more powerfull, which i like.
Plasma Launcher, this thing is simply awesome. If you lock on its a guarenteed kill.
Focus rifle, pretty dam good.
Abilites:
Sprint is kinad good but i dont use it too much.
Armout lock is definatly my favourite, its amazing in bad situations
Jetpack is good for getting to the top of buildings or up a level on a map but isnt as usefull or amazing as i thought.
Camo is pretty good, its just active camo except it scrambles the radar which i dont like. It just lets everyone know your there lol.
Maps:
Sword base looks beautifull and is hecka fun to play on especially in swat or covie slayer.
Power house is nice too, not as nice as sword base in my opinion though.

So I found my fav game type and map. Headhunter on Powerhouse with the Scout load out. I have a clip in my File Share that has me going from 7 to 25 skulls in like 10 seconds lol. I just dont know how to access the Reach File share to link it lol
But yeah, Headhunter so far is my fav game type.

Nades need to be toned down....they seem uber powerful. Need more DMR starts, DMR needs larger starting mag size.....Just sayin.....

I'm loving the beta and I agree that there's a few things Bungie should consider tweeting.
For starters, decrease the power of the frag nades a bit, I'm getting blown to pieces.

I quite like the new grenade power to be honest.
But i agree the DMR should have a larger ammo when you pick it up. Runs out way to fast. Its like 2 clips ?

yeah, just enough to go empty right before your spree starts I can't wait to see bigger maps too, as of now everything seems small and fast paced. That said "Slayer Pro" is great. DMR/Sprint starts with no radar
I honestly find the radar pretty useless in Reach anyway, it always seems to be jammed.....

i think the DMR clip is fine and should only be a start on larger maps, right now every weapon has a fighting chance against each other even the plasma pistol
good change from the BR being the goto dominate weapon in halo 3
