Gaming Headsets

So my turtle beach's just crapped out on me thanks to a loose fucking wire.

I don't know if I should just get another pair of X11's or go for something else. What do you guys use ?

wireless astro a30s. Expensive, good for watching movies and listening to tv.

There good, but not worth the money(I got them for cheap cause I sold some old stuff).

for the past two years ive been using the turtle beach X41

but right now im waiting for the tritton warhead 7.1

but if you cant wait and have the money you cant go wrong with astros

I think ill get the MLG ones haha. Will they work with my pc/macbook too ?

I will tell you from personal experience (I own both) that Turtle Beach PX5's > Astro A30s and A40s

If you're going to spend that much money, the PX5's are better. Even game informer agrees.

I've own pairs of beaches before. They are flimsy plastic pieces of junk, that love to malfunction.

Don't even get me started on their sound cards.

the PX5's are far better than any other turtle beach product and they are significantly better than Astros. Believe me, I love my astros but PX5's are most definitely better. They work for PS3 or 360 (or your cell phone). You can create different sound profiles in case you wanted one for music, one for movies, one for games, etc... you can apply different voice masks to those sound profiles. It has bluetooth. The sound quality is just as good (if not slightly better) as astros.

Well the astro's came today. Not had a great deal of time to use them yet but ill give my first impressions.

Sound Quality:

Sound is great, probably ever so slightly better than my X11's that I had before. Just seem a little crisper and the bass is deeper on these too. What I would say is the sound quality for listening to my ipod is much better than Beats, which I tried and considered getting. Too me the sound on beats seems slightly muffled compared to the a30's. If I was buying a pair simply for music I would probably pay the £95 for the astro headset only, as opposed to the £160 for beats.

Build/Comfort:

Straight away they seem a much better build quality than the turtle beach's. Those seemed sort of flimsy as if you could snap them in half, where as the A30's seem pretty solid. I like the fact that the ear pieces can rotate 90 degrees to rest on your shoulders when you are not using them. I wasnt too sure about the fact they didn't go over my ear like the X'11s but so far im pleasantly surprised. They cover pretty much most of my ear and the sound from outside the headset is unnoticeable. I haven't used them for a prolonged period of time yet so Ill see how comfortable they are once I do. The turtle beach's tended to make my ears sweaty when I used them for a few hours.


Ill add more once I use them a little longer.
