Metered Internet billing looks to be coming. The upcoming election is going to be the deciding factor though. Current in power group the PC is the only political party that has not promised to stop usage based billing. So vote Liberal god dammit! Shaw Cable in Edmonton is so convinced that this bill will pass they have already developed a usage based billing system and are implementing it May 1. So basically, the wSy this will work is that every month you are alloted a set bandwidth limit (really no change here as virtually everyone currently has a usage cap, it's just not really enforced) with the new system you will be charged ungodly rates that are close to mobil browser rates that will bill per MB!!!!!

Pretty much where this is going is that we have to vote liberal or risk this being the new face of ISP billing.....
