Writing a book Riots of Lakeville

Follows a Police Officer in a small town in the mid-west. A political debate has divided the town into two(Its not a complete Black and White division)including families, friends, and even the Police Officers. He has been on the job for 5 years. He has been married for two years and has a one year old son. The story follows him as he protects himself and his family from the riots and madness.
Thats my overview so far. I have never written a full book ever, so we will see how this goes.
