Thank you for signing up for the Spartan Alpha!
The Spartan Alpha is currently available to play every Thursday from 12 AM-Midnight (PDT).



To embark on your quest, follow the steps below:



1. If you haven’t already done so, download the Games for Windows-LIVE client at http://www.microsoft.com/games/EN-US/LIVE/Pages/livejoin.aspx

2. Once the Games for Windows - LIVE software has been installed, go to the Start menu, choose Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE, and then click Games for Windows - LIVE to launch the software.

3. Sign in with the Windows Live ID associated with your gamertag.

4. Click My Account, and then click Redeem Code.

5. Enter the following 25-digit code and then click Redeem:

6. When the redemption is complete, click Download Queue and find Project S in the list.

7. Click Install.

8. Review and accept the license agreement.

Once you’ve completed the steps above, you're almost ready to start playing the game. Just one more hoop to jump through, and you'll soon be well on your way to world domination.
Before you can log in to Spartan, you need a unique Live Access Code. This code is different from the Redeem Code included in this email. For details on how to get your Live Access Code, see below.



9. Under Project S in the Downloads list, click View Game Keys.

10. Find Live Access Code in the list. Your unique Live Access Code is displayed directly underneath.

11. Grab a paper and pen and copy down your Live Access Code.

12. Find Project S in your Downloads list, and then click Play.

13. Click Log In, and then enter your Windows Live ID and password.

NOTE: The Alpha is available to play from 12 AM to midnight PST every Thursday until further notice.

If you try to log in before the official Alpha start time, you’ll see a message that says:
“Cannot Connect. Server is currently not available for games. For more info, visit http://projects.msgamestudios.com/”

Don’t worry! You’re just early to the Spartan party. Try again starting @ 12AM Thursday.

14. Click Sign In.

15. When prompted, type your 25-character Live Access Code.

16. Click the I Agree checkbox to confirm that you agree to the rules of this Alpha, and then click Submit.

17. Follow the on-screen instructions to start playing Spartan!

I'm pretty sure it's the earliest build of a new Halo game(?)

that's what I was thinking.

No, not at all. Unless the title screen and description is a complete lie.

It says its a text based RTS by the people who created Age of Empires and Halo Wars. The picture on the main menu(Cant play yet) is a cartoonish looking Spartan(Not halo spartan).
