Halo Reach maps and updates

I'm still playing Reach from time to time with Drag, but from the looks of this video & the updates, I'll be coming back in full force come November 15th.

Just looking at Reach's playlists. They really need to clean it up before this comes out. Way too many playlists for the size of the player base. Classic only has 60 odd players, Team Slayer is 250 right now. The biggest is Zombies at 4000. Halo 3 at this point had a few thousand per playlist and anything with only a few hundred was dropped or integrated into a more popular playlist. It needs some real clean up before this update and maps come around and I'm guessing "Halo CE Playlists" to add to the playlists it already has.

Depends how they do it.
My guess is CE will have a set of playlists rather than just one.

So are they bringing back the "True" CE Pistol or just another revised re-imagination..... When I say "True" I mean, 0 spread (like fucking sniper accurate), 3 beloved 3-shot with stopping power of the shotty, 2x Zoom and ridiculous rate of fire. If so then this is gonne be ossim......

All I have been doing is dreaming about 3-shotting from clear across hang em high...... cant wait.

Ranked:
Lone Wolf
Team Slayer
Team Flag
Team Bomb
MLG
Double Team

Social:
BTB
Multi Team
SWAT
Rumple Pit
Squad Slayer
Invasion

Weekend Playlists (different one each week):
Zombies
Grifball
Action Sack
Team Melee
3 Ball

And dup Arena. It's failed. Instead bring in some sort of basic numbered ranking system based off of amount of wins vs loss for Ranked games.

The Title Update goes live sometime in mid september, then the beta hoppers playlist goes live october.

And like Ghost said, bloom sucks. Bloom has sucked since it was first put into this game. It's not about skill, it's about luck. That's all a dmr battle is. You take a guy who actually paces his shots vs. a guy a guy who spams his shots as fast as he can, the spammer will win. It's just stupid.

I like the way the Sniper rapes vehicles. Its a solution to the BTB problem of vehicle whores. Remember release when Hemorrhage spawned with a Scorpion which leads to easy Invincibles....... Yeah, I would much rather a sniper that drops the flying machine in 3 well placed shots then guys that whore the Wraith and Rev all game with ease.

On a side note, I am gonna try and quit smoking...... Is everyone who will undoubtedly being playing Halo with me ready for this.

all they need to do is add a capable anti vehicle weapon(laser) instead of the plasma launcher

you shouldnt be able to hide in a corner and control the entire map with a sniper rifle

and you will miss that sweet sweet tobacco ghost YOU WILL BE BACK

But I am a huge BTB sniper whore......that would ruin all my fun. Its hilarious listening to people bitch when I go "Be the bullet" on Hemorrhage.

Taking out bloom, great. Bloom fucking sucks.

The sniper I would keep the same, the ability to take out vehicles with it is a good thing.

I would definately add the laser on to all btb vehicle maps. The plasma launcher blows, too easy to outrun.

I dont really like them changing armour lock, in that someone can basically melee you out of it.

Only thing is, how will the sniper work with bleed through? As it is, the sniper is powerful enough to take out a Banshee with ease. So what happens when it hits a player, breaks and then passes through your shield in one shot?

Anyway, I say increase some of the vehicle health since even DMRs can hurt vehicles with enough pressure. Plus with bloom gone, a sniper could just spam 4 shots into a Banshee if they want. Vehicles should be taken out with anti-vehicle weapons. Or by taking out the driver. I say bring back the Spartan Laser as a real force. Right ow I'm not even sure it's in MP.
Place if right in the middle of Hemorrhage like in Valhalla, and place down a banshee to replace the Wraiths and set up a long wait for spawn. And a grenade launcher on both sides. More for my amusement at seeing Banshees drop from the sky from the emp burst Very Happy

Also, I really want some more big open BTB maps.

And not so much focus on Forge maps. They're nice but 99% of the time it's all I see.

All in all, I want to see what level of support 343 will give. Considering we have Halo 4 in roughly a years time. I hope they don't just bring this out and then drop Reach altogether.
It's essentially the problem Bungie had. They brought out Reach but where signing a new contract and working on a new IP set to be a trilogy. Focus was split compared to Halo 3 or 2. The idea was they could just give the work over to 343 but now they're basically doing the same thing with Halo 4, 5 and 6 planned.

I agree with your sniper statement Jak, I would say keep the sniper bloom if possible but I doubt that will happen. I like the fact that a solid team DMR shot can take out any vehicle more or less, but I would like to see it back to the way it was in H3, 2 shots with a sniper to end a Tank Rampage, 1 to pop the canopy and another to snipe the driver. Or maybe see a new "local damage system" to vehicles. Like a few sniper shots or nades to the treads of a scorpion and then scorpion suddenly has less mobility and can be boarded with ease. Same goes for like a hog, maybe say being able to blow tires. But yeah That would require an entire re-write of vehicles so thats not gonna happen......would be cool though.

Apparently Halo Anniversary will have a new optional side story too.

Though they also said that "they're all hands on deck" with Halo 4.

The forerunner books and any future book will tie in with halo 4, so I think that includes Grasslands.
