Sprint Windows 7 Phone(3G) or HTC EVO 3D(4G)?

The main thing keeping me from buying one or the other is 3G v 4G is there really a difference? I always thought it was just some stupid marketing technique to get people to buy another phone.

in america it pretty much is a marketing technique and you dont need a 3d phone

The main difference between 3G and 4G is speed.

Taken from the internetz;

The 4G network delivered an average download speed of 4.1Mbit/sec. -- about what you'll get with a wired DSL or cable modem connection. It was seven times faster than Sprint's 3G service, which averaged 550Kbit/sec. I received a peak 4G download speed of 11.2Mbit/sec. at one location, nearly 10 times faster than the 1.2Mbit/sec. of throughput available on Sprint's 3G network at the same location two minutes later.

The article goes on to say that upload speeds are still terrible, an average of 50 Kbit/s upload....

Until Sprint gets iPhone...
