Guy sends me a email telling me to write a spin off of Top Gun for Reach. All he gave me was the title...

This is what I have so far.


INTRO

On March 3rd, 2232 the United Nations Space Command
established an elite school for the top 1% of its pilots.
Its all purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial combat
and to insure that the handful of men who graduated were the
best fighter pilots in the world.



They succeeded



Today, the Space Command call it Fighter Weapons School.

The Flyers call it:

UNSC NAVY SHEPARD AIRCRAFT CARRIER PRESENT DAY

Show Falcons taking off and landing, crew.

INSIDE AIRCRAFT CARRIER OPERATIONS ROOM

HEAD OF COMM.
     Sir, we have one
bogey(banshee) inbound.

CAPTAIN
Who do we have up there on patrols?

HEAD OF COMM.
Cougar with Merlin, and Maverick
with Goose Sir!

CAPTAIN
Maverick? A bat out of hell...

TWO FALCONS HEADING OUT

COUGAR
Merlin, are we picking him up on
radar?

MERLIN
Yup, he is right on our fight path.

2 Banshees fly by the Falcons

ALL
Whoa, Holy Shit, etc

Banshee gets lock on COUGARS Falcon

COUGAR
Maverick get him off me, come on!

Mavericks Falcon gets close to the Banshee, side gunner
shoots warning shots.

MAVERICK
Shepard this is Maverick, Banshees
are bugging out, I repeat bugging
out.

CAPTAIN
Head back, you are both low on
fuel.

MAVERICK, GOOSE, MERLIN
Roger that.

Mavericks Falcon turns back to Carrier.

MERLIN
Cougar, we are running on fumes
here. Go back come on we had enough
for today. Cougar lets go, we
barely have enough fuel.

As Maverick touches down on the carrier he goes back out to
help Cougar and Merlin.

CAPTAIN
Maverick! Damnit!

Maverick flies his Falcon next to Cougars.

MAVERICK
Cougar, come on buddy lets get
back. Hey Cougar come on you can't
stay out here much longer buddy.
Stay on my wing, I'll bring you in.

Maverick proceeds to bring Cougars Falcon to the Carrier

MAVERICK
Okay Cougar you're a little low.
Pull up...ya there you go.

His Falcon rocks back in fourth due to him being in shock.

He lands

Maverick then makes a turn around for his approach and also
lands.

hmm, im not liking it

Neither am I.

I say to the guy, um do want this to be like the movie or a comedy?

Guy: Uh your tha righterz u do wheverts u wantz
(SO I just chose to do a exact remake shorter of course.)
And then I go.

So if I do write this how you gonna go filming it and getting people together for it?

Guy: I don't know yet.

He doesn't even have a website lol. But, Top Gun is awesome and with a good Filmer and editor. This could be a good action flick.

ya this is the kind of concept your gonna need high action and good scene capturing to pull off

He finally replies back and to sum it up he goes:

"Why are some scenes you write very short, but in the actual movie really longer?"

So I answered:

Look, I am writing a script here. Not a military operation. When I give you a action scene. For example the first one which includes 2 Falcons vs 2 Banshees I leave it open for you. When making a machinima the actions scenes take the longest, but are also the most fun. I did not want to limit you by telling you the exact path of what the Falcons and Banshees take. Plus I have really no general idea of the Forge World map.
