Oh god 343 what have you done?

This info hasn't been confirmed yet but it sounds so similar to cod 
"A substantial quantity of alleged Halo 4 details have started appearing online. The latest issue of Game Informer, of which 343 Industries' next game is the cover story star, is hitting subscribers, some of which have been sharing details in various forums.
STORY:
The story details Master Chief waking up four years after his cryo nap at the end of Halo 3. Cortana's detected an intruder on board, which happens to be Covenant invaders probably joining them from the fleet outside Chief's derelict ship. No word on why the Covenant are there at all, never mind why they've broken their truce with humans, nor what role they play in the narrative.
The story that follows Chief's wake-up will, as we know, explore the humanity of John 117, as well as continue Halo 3's theme of Cortana as a rampant AI. In that four year break, Cortana's adopted a new look. As usual, the campaign allows for four-player co-op.
In addition to new weapons to be revealed, the Covenant carbine and plasma pistol return alongside the human sniper, assault, and battle rifles. We'll also get to wield the magnum, rocket-launcher, shotgun, and assault carbine. "
MULTIPLAYER:
The story carries over to Halo 4's multiplayer, which 343 is calling Infinity. This answers our question from earlier this week regarding Microsoft's newly registered HaloInfinity.net and HaloInfinityMultiplayer.com domains. Infinity has direct and indirect connections to the campaign, though details aren't present in the article.
Frank O'Connor mentioned in the Halo 4 ViDoc that 343 came up with a valid reason for red to fight blue, and that comes in the form of military training on the combat deck, an adversarial simulator. This means we won't play as Elites online, as 343's focus lies on the Infinity's Spartan IVs.
Adding to the Infinity experience is Spartan Ops, a separate story-centric campaign for four players. It presents objective-based missions and cinematics, both of which will be added weekly to expand on Spartan Ops' story. These updates will happen for months following Halo 4's release to hold players' attention long-term. Spartan Ops replaces Firefight, which won't have its own dedicated mode this time around.
Another interesting change to Halo 4 is loadouts. Rather than everyone rolling out with the same weapons online, players bring customized gear into battle. Everyone packs a primary and secondary weapon, armor abilities (including active camo, jetpack, and hologram) grenade type (plasma grenade is still unconfirmed). Weapons still appear around the map, of course, but they appear in random spots via drop pods. In another interesting minor tweak, the respawn in Team Slayer is instantaneous rather than reliant on a clock.
Oh, and since Chief vanished, Spartans have since learned to run; sprinting is an innate ability in everyone. Players can also use Forerunner Vision to peek through walls, Batman style. The X-ray vision upgrade is an armor ability you'll equip. Other abilities are unlockable via Spartan Points, the currency fueling the in-game economy. Points unlock additional Ops missions, armor abilities, and cosmetic upgrades.

MLG people are probably so pissed. I don't really mind it, they are trying to get a wider audience of players. Which is needed because every time I play Halo anymore everyone is fucking mlg pro master sniper.

Looks like I'll be mashing the X button repeatedly to spawn lol.
Not having that timer for Slayer matches is probably the only gripe I have. I don't mind the rest.

I'm mostly fine with this.
Honestly, Halo 3 feels pretty dated now and Reach feels like it's trying to be a "modern" shooter while keeping in line with the rest of the Halo series and doesn't quite gel well. Crappy maps don't help.
Story wise, Covenant showing up again makes sense. All we really did in 3 was kill Truth who was more a mouth piece than anything. There's plenty of his race willing to step in and fill that void. I remember saying this right after 3 on the Xbox forums and no one believed me. The most we did was knock them back to a point were they can no longer be a major threat. But who knows what kind of strength they might have built back up over 4 years.
I hate Jetpacks. I feel like they change the way maps are designed and going by Reach, not for the better. Picking weapons and so on is fine by me. No more complaining about no BR starting playlists, just pick a BR yourself and get to it.
Weapon drop points at random spots seem smart too. No longer can a team camp in certain spots knowing that's were the rocket launcher, sniper or laser is at. It'll keep teams moving too rather down digging into one spot for 90% of the game. Changes the focus of combat on the map as both sides clash at the latest drop point.
You won't see me shedding a tear at the lack of Elites. Pain in the ass in 2 and 3 and nothing spectacular in Reach. If anything it means we'll get more custom parts for Spartans.
Respawn is fine too. Speeds things up. Only thing I'd add is being able to spawn on your team mates if they aren't in any danger.
Sprinting, finally. We're meant to be super soldiers able to run at 60mph at top speed. Sprinting should be a given.
And the ops missions sound cool. I expect we'll all be trying this out.
I can't say much beyond that until I see this stuff in action.
Also, assault carbine sounds like all kinds of fun.

Just glanced over at the Halo 4 section on Xbox forums. Holy hell there is a lot of over reactions. Death of Halo, never playing this, worst thing ever and so on. They've read a few tid bits of info with no gameplay what so ever and the closest they've got to seeing any of this in action is a handful of blurry scanned magazine pictures showing character models.

I wouldnt say they ruined it, just turning it closer to cod. Shit cod's getting stale so why not innovate.
The only real problem I have is loadouts. Halo has never been about that. Everyone spawned on an even playing field and had to fight to get the better weapons.

The music in reach was pretty meh for me, i'm even less excited for 4's soundtrack too :/
Why can't it just have a healthy mix of halo 2's ultra-cheese rock and halo 3's beowolf-tier orchestra?

Also, I really don't know what to think until I see some gameplay. Personally, I was hoping they'll tone down the armor effects and bring back active camo and overshield as something you pick up (like in Halo 3, 2 and 1) but apparently one of the articles in IGN says that there will be something called Forerunner vision along with x ray vision as one of the armor effects.
